The Ohio University Women's Center is part of the Office of Diversity, Access and Equity at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. The Women's Center opened in February 2007 with the opening of the university's John Calhoun Baker University Center. == Mission statement == The mission of the Ohio University Women's Center is to act as a catalyst to promote awareness, education, and advocacy about women, gender, diversity, and related issues among faculty, staff, and students at the university and its surrounding communities. The Center provides students, faculty, and staff with information, services, and programs that address matters of particular concern to women, while exploring the connections among gender, race, economic status, sexual orientation, culture, religion, political views, and other significant elements in relation to women's individuality and collective identity. Through a commitment to educate and advocate, the Women's Center provides opportunities for campus involvement while attending to the specific needs and concerns of women at Ohio University.
